Reorganization and Precinct Committeeman Election Called

Government wins in breach of trust action against tobacco firms
Four United States Circuit Court judges find the American Tobacco Company and related groups violated the Sherman antitrust law by restraining trade. The government withdraws a request for receivership as impractical while suspending the injunction against subsidiaries. Turkey Crop Short in Contra Kentucky Harvest
A Versailles dispatch reports that Contra Kentucky turkey raisers say the crop is short this year due to wet spring weather. Buyers plan to enter the market soon, but no price is fixed yet. Carmack Shot Dead in Nashville Street Tragedy
