Exercises Closing Of Springfield Graded School
A large crowd attended the second annual commencement at the Opera House last Wednesday. The program featured vocal solos by Mary Haydon Louise Medley and Harry Shultz a duet by Haydon and Waters a quartet and two school choruses praised for harmony and interpretation. Literary work included original orations by Leo Simma Lyman Barber and Mary Lampton and a Baccalaureate address by Judge Thurman. The valedictory by Barber and the efforts of Lyman Barber and Lampton were lauded as promising. Springfield people and Kentucky as well as the nation are assured of bright futures for these graduates.

City Star Victorious Over High School Team in May Game
In a highlight of the season the City Star beat the High School five at High School Park on May 22. Robertson and Tong composed a strong battery for the City Stars while Gibbe and Hume shone in the field.
