A resident from Vhuseurs Kentucky thanks J R Gore of Springfield for promoting his goods in the local Sun newspaper. The letter says the advertising column helped sell all the stock and more and hopes the Sun will spread its light across the county.
Local residents report improvements in sick neighbors Mesdames Larkin Dean and Sam Montgomery. J M Montgomery loses a valuable colt last week. Lodge gathering at Mackville with J M Montgomery and J M Shields. Leachman couple returns from Spencer County visit. crop sold in Louisville. Ethel Settles marries Sleet Pinkston at Cardwell with attendees including Maud and Eva Inman. Preacher Todd to lead union church services. Sunday school plans discussed with Prof Howell of Mackville offering aid. Reverend Sutherland travels to Warren County for an appointment. Settles and Noel sell tobacco to American Tobacco Co. Greeneth Peter to begin April term at Mackville school.
The obituary notes Mrs Bertha Miller aged twenty one, widow of William Miller, dies March 15 at her parents John and Mrs Leachman near Litsey. She leaves three brothers and one sister, praised for piety and charity, funeral under Rev J A Sims, Hillsboro cemetery. Also brief ad for Paracamph claims eczema cure with money back guarantee.
Miss Blanche Shirley is ill with rheumatism. Henry Wells visits near Tatham. John Sutton visits McAfee, Ky. Dr. W. T. Wells returns from Louisville. Lester Gibbs and sister Mabel visit from Harrodsburg. cousins Miss Clark Blanton and Mr. Bell join. Elizabeth Shirley returns from Litsey. A mare owned by W. T. Wells is fatally shot and dies. the incident is hoped to be an accident. Chas. Blanton and W. S. Gibbs attend a Harrodsburg horse sale. W. W. White recovers from grip. Mrs. Sallie Sutherland visits.
The Sun announces prizes for leaders as of noon Wednesday April 5. The top contestant categories include a young lady a handsome hand painted comb and a brush tray a teacher a nice hand satchel and a farmer a riding bridle awarded at noon April 26.
A town drummer named Mr Adams experiences a strange condition. His daytime vision is normal but at night he cannot see at all, even in bright light. He notes the affliction began when he was two years old. He remains young, handsome, jovial, and content with his lot.
Mrs. Tom Mills died of consumption Sunday at her father Mr. Mike Lee’s home in the county. She was 55 and survived by her husband and eleven children. The body was buried at Calvary after Catholic services. The family had lived in Graves county for years and came here last Christmas on doctors orders for a climate change. Her death is described as unusually sad. Her husband and other children were unable to be notified as the family traveled from their old home.
Mrs. Tom Mills daughter of Mr. Mike Lee of this county died at her father’s home near Calvary Sunday morning March 12 1905 after a brief illness. The Lebanon Enterprise notes the death and identifies the family connection in Marion County.
In correcting last week's ballot a mistake affected Mr E S Mayes Jr causing him to run the wrong way. His prior vote 1630 should have added 3651, totaling 1981 instead of 1881. Certificates are filed and future errors would be easy to fix though another mistake is unlikely.
A Cincinnati reader forwards praise for The Sun in Springfield Kentucky in a March 21 1905 note. J Dessoir American Press Association manager commends the six column headline and overall make-up.

Miss Eva Lanham and Mr Will Bohannon were married in Springfield last Wednesday afternoon. The couple, described as charming young people, enjoyed refreshments at the bride’s sister Lula Brown’s home. Best wishes for a long, happy life are extended to the newlyweds.
Steve Begley went to Cincinnati on business. Mrs. Dan Rogers returned from Louisville. Misses Minnie and Lena Barker with Walter Adams and Ed Bowles visited Bardstown. Several farmers sold tobacco. C W Oder shopped in Louisville for spring goods. Verna Rogers visited Willisburg. Kent Rogers and wife visited the farmer's parents. Joe Smith was here Sunday. Mrs Ella Montgomery of Springfield visited. Emma and Rose Adams visited their aunt Mrs Will Anderson. Maggie Smith resumed school after four months. Dianna Smith returned from Fredericktown. Young folks attended church at Mackville. Postmaster General Cortelyou denies he will stay as Republican National Committee chair.
Miss Anna Jones remains as guest of friends in Louisville. Mrs. Katie Shewmaker visited Mr. Carrie Shewmaker Wednesday. George Thomas and others were guests of Mrs. Meal Bodine Tuesday. Mrs. J. N. Arnold and daughter attended an event with Mrs. Walter Thompson Tuesday. Mrs. E. E. Wakefield spent Tuesday with Mrs. Willie Willie Shehan. Walter and wife visited in Springfield Friday. Mrs. Tom Read visited her parents Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. J. N. Shehan and sons were in Chaplin Friday visiting Mrs. L. B. Irvine. Miss Della Virgin entered Bowling Green school Tuesday. Mrs. Z C. Andrews and daughters spent Friday at Duncan Hall. the Royalty were in Springs Friday.
