The Graded School Reorganizes Springfield High Faculty

At a regular school board meeting marked improvements were made at Springfield High School. Emma Nunan, praised for her First Grade leadership, will focus solely on that level. Mrs. Alice Whayne, a former Hazard Institute instructor, joins the Second Grade. Miss Ida McClure resigns due to ill health. Miss Evelyn Royalty succeeds her in the Fifth Grade. The board commends Prof Colvin and the staff for a progressive, advanced program.

Death of Mrs Murphy at St Rose near home

Mrs Joanna Murphy aged 75, widow of Michael Murphy, died last Friday at the home of Mrs Shinahan near St Rose. Funeral services were held at St Rosechurch Saturday morning and interment was in St Rose cemetery. Master Booker Nee, son of Mr and Mrs Robt A Nee, broke both bones in his forearm after a fall from a tree while hunting mulberries Sunday afternoon. He is recovering well and expected to knit without complications.

Washington County Medical Society Meets in Springfield

The Washington County Medical Society met in Springfield on June 9 with W. R K. Thompson M. W. Hyatt w. w. Ray J. C. Mudd and J. H. Hopper among those present.
