Giant five foot eight inch catfish found in Evansville log
An eighty five pound catfish emerged from a hollow log at Helt rich's sawmill in Evansville after four men pulled it free. The fish measured five feet eight inches from tail to mouth and was likely in the log for months. The log also contained hundreds of fish eggs and was hauled from Green River by raft. Nearby, Anderson News reports the drowning of Young Earl Rogers, son of Henry Rogers, at Hickory Nut Creek. Funeral services were held and burial occurred at Hebron.
