In Cleveland on July 31 Leela Morton, daughter of Melville Morton, awoke during a burglary when a thunderstorm roused her. She detected chloroform odor aiding neighbors in reviving Morton after burglars ransacked the house and secured a small amount of loot.

Boat Accident in Manasquan Inlet Claims Two Lives
In Manasquan Inlet Frank Brown of Jamaica and his daughter drown after a rescue attempt by two boatmen. Miss Todd of Plainfield was saved as Brown’s boat overturned in the current. The tragedy followed Brown’s refusal to allow his wife to join the boat.

Race With Death In Canvas Canoe Hero Leads Rescue
St Paul Minnesota George Bohn 16 and Mathey Taylor 20 mechanic arts high school students paddled 17 miles to Fort Snelling after Taylor severed a leg artery while camping on the Minnesota river. Bohn towed the wounded friend and secured help at Cobb hospital Merriam Park with Taylor revived but weak. Taylor bled heavily yet survived.
