Survey party eyes Louisville end of railroad route
Mr Sympson Roberts of the Osbourne Engineering Co Cleveland returned home after weeks away. The firm surveys a rail line from the Cumberland river coal fields in Clinton County toward a northern market inlet with Louisville as the probable terminus. Springfield locals expect the survey will pass nearby as funding is arranged.

Shooting in Louisville Leaves Crume Suspect in Stairwell
In Louisville a man named Crume shot Montedonico on a rear stairway at 305 West Market Street. Crume, 811 Cawthon Street, claims innocence after five shots were fired. Montedonico, wounded in the left thigh and shattered right pelvic bone, is hospitalized with non fatal injuries.

Death of Dr. Joseph S. Demaree Remains Theme of Franklin County Med Society
Franklin County Medical Society met on Saturday to appoint a committee for suitable resolutions on the death of Dr. Joseph Samuel Demaree. He died near Bagdad in Shelby County on August 4 after a lingering typhoid fever. Born in 1865 in Shelby County, he trained in Memphis and practiced in Mackville, Danville, and Frankfort, where he built a large practice from 1902. He married Miss Trent in 1889 and left a surviving son of fourteen. He was buried at Willisburg beside his wife and infant son. A lifelong friend praised him as moral and without guilt, a courteous ethical physician and true gentleman.

Death Comes McChord Leader and Family Man in Lebanon
Robert C. McChord died at Elizabethtown Hospital of age related illness. Born December 25 1825 in Washington County he lived in the county, Danville and Lebanon. A Democrat and former state legislator he left eight children including W C and C C McChord in Lebanon John and R C McChord in Lebanon and others in Winchester Pee Wee Valley Louisville Frankfort and more.
