Funeral services for Mrs Anna Schaman of Poplar Bay were held at the family home on Tuesday October 23. Interment followed in Bird River cemetery. Born in Latvia in 1860 she came to Lac du Bonnet when the district opened. Survived by four sons and one daughter Maria and Andrew of Poplar Bay George of Port Colburn Ont Carl of Guelph Ont August of Fannystelle and Mrs Kulikowski of Poplar Bay. There are 24 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were four grandsons August Kulikowski Fred Schaman Robert Schaman and Allan Schaman.

Town Hall Memorial Service Plans in Beausejour
Beausejour Canadian Legion branch held a special meeting October 23 1946 at Municipal Hall. The annual memorial service is set for November 1 at 10 30 am in Town Hall. Poppies will be sold November 9 by school children and November 11 by pupils. Proceeds from the November 11 Legion dance at Town Hall go to the War Memorial Fund.
