Limited-Dividend Companies Under the National Housing Act

The National Housing Act allows limited-dividend companies with profits capped at five percent of investment to obtain loans for rental housing for low income families. They must operate with rents approved by Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation and show a need for the project. Amendments permit sale after mortgage payoff with full residual value but prohibit disposal during loan. Surplus earnings must be disposed of as specified. Loans can reach 90 percent of lending value with up to 60 years at three percent interest.

Temperature in Storing Fruit

Fruit quality depends on correct storage temperature. Doubling ripening rate with 18 F rise, apples pears peaches and cherries require specific temps. Small quantities go in fridge at 32 F, larger lots in cool moist conditions, and peaches and pears need 60–70 F to ripen. Careful handling preserves quality.
