John Weidman an old time resident of the Lac du Bonnet district died at St Boni face sanatorium on September 27 at age 69. The funeral was held at Lee River cemetery on Friday with many relatives and friends in attendance. Renshaw funeral home handled arrangements.

Reverend A C Houston presided at the September 28 funeral service for 75 year old William John Patterson in Pine Falls United Church. He died September 25 in Pine Falls hospital and was buried in the local cemetery. Pallbearers included S Velie J Lyons J Heinkel J Sawdhyn R Arthurs and C Groves. Born Manitoulin Island Ontario he homesteaded in Dauphin before moving to Pine Falls and was employed by the Manitoba Paper.

Truck Overturns Wrecking Car Injures Three on Highway 1
On Friday September 25 a truck loaded with quarried rubble overturned on No 1 highway half a mile east of Rivercrest injuring three. Gordon Rumley driver swerved to avoid a following trailer before braking failed causing the load to overturn into an oncoming car. All three injured were taken to General hospital with varying conditions. Stemalschuk released October 2 while Zolondek remained under observation.
