Engagement announced for Cpl Stanley Gold to Elin Johnson of Winnipeg with a Winnipeg Grenadiers background. Community events feature Five Pin Bowling League playoffs, Merrimakers dance, Welcome Home party for Cpl Stuart Kahle, and knitting wool sale at Mercantile.

Bowling Smoker and season end at Chateau Alleys

The 10 pin Bowling League Singles Tournament finished with a fourth game at Chateau Bowling Alleys on April 27. Afterward the final season meeting honored service members, reviewed finances, and distributed prizes led by president J. Munsie. Top prizes went to Keith Krueger, Jack Dean, Ted Harrison, and Albert St Croix among others.

Teens Hostesses Lead Chateau Party in Pine Falls

Carol Thibodeau and Nesth McLeod hosted a large party at the Chateau on Thursday April 25 with 110 guests enjoying dancing music by Mrs. Halpin and Mrs. Lalor. H Halpin served as MC and sang briefly. Lunch was served by Mrs. McLeod and Mrs. Thibodeau assisted by others.

Easter Guests Visit Great Falls as Winter Trapper Returns

Mr and Mrs D A Ritchie of Winnipeg visited their son in Great Falls at Easter. Mr and Mrs Robi Fargey of Winnipeg spent Easter with Mrs Fargey's parents in Great Falls. Fred Carlson, who has trapped in the bush all winter, is mentioned in the Easter notes.
