Confirmation at Notre Dame Lac du Bonnet by Archbishop Cabara

His Grace Archbishop George Cabara confirmed thirty eight children at Notre Dame Church in Lac du Bonnet after High Mass on Sunday August 4. Parish Priest Rev. Father Beau conducted the service and the archbishop asked the customary questions before conferring the Sacrament. He was deeply gratified by the class responses.

Beausejour Board Hears 12 to 15 Bed Hospital Plan

Dr. Rafuse, Manitoba Hospitalization Director, told Beausejour Board of Trade the town could support a twelve to fifteen bed hospital with potential expansion later. A small start is preferred, and a committee was named to push councils of Beausejour and Brokenhead to back the plan. Brokenhead RM then moved to request Health Department to outline a twelve bed hospital covering Beausejour, Brokenhead, and area 12-Range SE.

Pleasant Holiday At Great Falls

Mr. and Mrs. J. E McMillan of Winnipeg returned home after a pleasant holiday with Mrs. McMillan's mother Mrs. Elsie Sandquist in Great Falls. They helped with haymaking and harvesting. Mrs. McMillan drove the horses and rake and helped with berry picking. Mr. McMillan, an avid fisherman, taught his brother-in-law Raymond to fish. Though they did not catch the Winnipeg River's biggest fish, they did reach their quota and used Mack's Famous Lures made in Winnipeg.

Farewell For The Davies Of Pine Falls

Mr and Mrs C B Davies plan to move to Iroquois Falls Ontario this month and were guests of honor at a farewell party hosted by Mr and Mrs R Rigg on Saturday night August 10. Forty four guests attended and dancing was the main feature. Don Reid presented a punch bowl on behalf of the friends and offered best wishes for their future happiness.
