LIQUOR CAUSES DEATH AT LADD
John Delousky aged 55 died at his Ladd home from effects of moonshine liquor after visiting Chicago. A coal miner for seventeen years he is survived by his wife and four children. Coroner Malm ruled death from heart paralysis due to alcohol overindulgence. Funeral Friday at St Anne's Spring Valley with burial in Lithuanian cemetery.

Roy Peart operated a drinking place in the former Frank Nolan saloon at Arlington. A raid by Sheriff Mills’ sponge squad found beer with more than one half of one per cent alcohol. Peart pleaded guilty and paid a 404 fine plus costs. Dominic Cresto of Cherry pleaded guilty to violations of state search and seizure laws. He was fined 600 dollars and costs and sentenced to 10 days in jail after requesting mercy.
