Kerry May Delay Nomination to Boost Fundraising
Democratic candidate John Kerry may delay accepting his party's nomination to extend private fundraising time and shrink President Bush's funding edge. The plan could allow a one month extension of Kerry's $75 million general election budget before full federal funding kicks in. The DNC and Kerry team weigh rule changes to delay the nomination effect until Sept. 1, with Internet or proxy delegate votes possible.
