Pollution control law upheld by Supreme Court
Washington AP The Supreme Court left intact federal clean air standards set by the EPA in 1979 to curb big city smog. The justices dismissed appeals from a coalition including the American Petroleum Institute and 15 oil companies plus several states and groups, which argued the standards were too stringent.
