Wal Mart recalls 64000 fabric lanterns over fire risk
The Consumer Products Safety Commission and Wal Mart warn that 64000 beige fabric lanterns lit by votive candles posing a fire danger were sold nationwide from December 2002 to March 2003 for about 7 dollars. Lanterns made in China and can be returned for a full refund. call 800 925 6278. Fire boss says saving Summerhaven doomed by blaze
In Mount Lemmon AZ firefighters faced impossible odds as a wildfire driven by 60 mph winds swept through Summerhaven, destroying hundreds of homes. Larry Humphrey, head of the fire team, said the fire would likely burn tens of thousands of acres with little chance to stop it. The fire grew from 465 to about 3,200 acres and forced lines to be dug to protect remaining structures.
