Fallen brother honored as Illinois firefighters plan funeral
Williamson County firefighters recalled Corey Shaw, a Du Quoin firefighter fatally injured Friday in Pinckneyville, while plans formed for cross town support. Dozens of departments prepared to send reps to his funeral Wednesday and Murphysboro crews offered to cover the Du Quoin station so local firefighters could attend.

Storm pounds Perry and Franklin counties in Southern Illinois
A line of Sunday early morning storms caused major damage in Perry and Franklin counties with downed power lines, uprooted trees, ruptured gas lines, and damaged buildings.
