Toll road from Chicago to Kansas City proposed by Quincy group
A Quincy committee presented to Gov. Shapiro a study deeming a toll road from Chicago to Kansas City economically feasible with a proposed cost of 316.6 million dollars. The plan calls for federal legislation to guarantee toll road bonds to secure low interest and cut construction costs, with Illinois costs totaling 167.8 million and Missouri 148.8 million. Red Cross Aquatic School Under Way At Little Grassy Lake
The annual American Red Cross National Aquatic School continues at Little Grassy Lake Outdoor Laboratory through Saturday. Sixty eight students study water safety first aid handicapped swimming and canoeing under supervisor Gene Keltner director of the Red Cross at Decatur.

Badge Awarded in Vietnam to Pfc. Jerry Ramsey
The Combat Infantryman Badge was awarded to Pfc. Jerry Ramsey near Plieku Vietnam. Ramsey is 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ramsey of Jonesboro, a rifleman in Company D 3rd Battalion 4th Infantry Division 8th Infantry. He joined the Army in March 1967 and finished basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood Missouri. He attended Anna and Jonesboro Community High School and worked for Trojan Power Co Wolf Lake before enlisting.
