Illinois House approves two tax break bills for business
Illinois lawmakers push climate friendly tax cuts. One measure would give about 50 million in income tax credits for inventories equipment and property investments, tied to a 1 percent annual Illinois workforce growth. Credits start at 0.5 percent in 1983, rise to 1 percent by 1985. The second bill would let local taxing bodies grant property tax cuts up to 1 million over 10 years for businesses locating within their borders. Both measures passed the House and moved to Gov Thompson, with Senate already on board.
