Mississippi River bridge plan advances with $300 million secured

Project manager Keith Hinkebein notes about $300 million is already earmarked from state and federal sources, with 80 percent funded federally and 20 percent by the state. The 3150-foot bridge will link the Metro East to St. Louis, alleviating traffic by diverting vehicles from the Poplar Street Bridge and forming part of a larger I-70 relocation and Illinois Route 3 upgrades.
