A 19 year old Mount Vernon man Richard Allan Ferguson was arrested Tuesday on four counts of first degree murder in the beating death of 44 year old Sean Grigg of Ashley. Grigg was found beaten inside the Mount Vernon Western Sizzlin restaurant early Monday after a coworker noted his absence from the parked truck. Grigg, a janitor for a cleaning service, had been working the early shift. Evidence at the scene suggested a burglary lead. Authorities estimate the attack occurred around 2:30 am Monday. State's Attorney Gary Duncan commended Mount Vernon Police and Illinois State Police for the rapid case development.
