American Baptists open biennial meeting with Carter ERA talk
More than 5 000 delegates attend the American Baptist Churches USA four day biennial on the Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus. The event features a Friday ERA rally led by Anne Follis and a telephone address by First Lady Rosalynn Carter. Carter is to receive the Edwin T. Dahlberg Peace Award for Middle East peace efforts.
