Texaco Station Opens In Herrin
A new Texaco station at Park Avenue and Stotlar Street Herrin opened Wednesday under Bill Barrass of Johnston City. Barrass plans to move to Herrin and has partnered with Johnny Moore in Johnston City. The two bay station features a tile restroom lift lubrication and overhead equipment built by Clyde Brewster who is leasing it to the Texas Co. Mitchell Construction Co. of Herrin was the contractor. A grand opening is tentatively planned for this month.

Marion Woman Gets Circuit Court Award
A Marion woman, Shirley Bearden, was awarded 75.76 in the final civil jury hearing of the Williamson County Circuit Court May term. The verdict against Martin Reichert, also of Marion, disallowed his counter suit of 172.95. Nine jurors decided the case. Bearden’s brother Ball Bearden was driving when his car was rear ended on Aug 12, 1954, by Reichert’s vehicle. Criminal cases will begin June 13 and 21, non-jury cases June 20.
