Charges None filed in parking lot altercation at Marion Park District

Sheriff Garnati disputed blame in a disputed parking lot fight between Marion Park District president Strobel and Thomas. Strobel and wife Elizabeth Strobel claim Thomas attacked Kenny Strobel with a shoe, prompting self defense. Thomas and passenger Rachel Butler claim Strobel shouted racial slurs and attacked first. Garnati cited lack of conclusive evidence and a damaged surveillance tape. He noted no witnesses emerged and NAACP questioned the delay in charges. He suggested two tickets for Strobel: following too closely and failing to dim headlights.
