Decoration Day Observed At Myrtle Point With Services And Tributes
Decoration Day was observed in Myrtle Point with cemetery tributes by G A R and American Legion posts and flowers and national colors. A 2 PM program at the Unique theater featured addresses by T M Hermann and Dr. Anderson, plus school recitations and a flag drill. The event honored fallen soldiers and praised local efforts supervised by Mrs. Fred Garrett. The same issue notes the wedding of Olga Schreifer to G M Weekly in North Bend and thanks from the Clark family for condolences and floral tributes after Claud Clark’s death.

O. A. C. Experiment Station at Corvallis notes small light green rasp berry saw flies are defoliating cane, raspberries, and loganberries. Inspect undersides for tiny spined worms. arsenate of lead spray at 1.5 pounds per 50 gallons is recommended, applied from below to protect leaves and fruit.

Highway Commission Promises Real Action Paving in Coos County
A Coos county delegation urged the State highway commission in Port Orford to complete the Coos Bay Myrtle Point link from Roseburg to the coast. The commission promised paving if possible and said any unfinished section would be rocked for winter use. The county court will deploy a year round patrol system using trucks to keep all roads in passable condition.
