The Howell boy case ends with another hung jury after two trials over Lillian Leuthold’s murder. Seven for conviction, five for acquittal. prosecutors decide next steps as the boy awaits January term under sheriff custody. The case costs Coos County about $8,000 and raises questions about justice and lifelong consequences.

A Bil lings family gathered on Christmas day for a long awaited reunion. Seven daughters and four sons, eleven relatives in total, with Mrs Florence Crosby from Des Moines Iowa and Mrs Ventura Bark from San Francisco California among those attending.
