The government urges thrift to curb rising prices and conserve capital after a war that drained billions. It promotes War Savings Stamps and Treasury Savings Certificates at four percent interest, urging every man woman and child to divert part of Christmas gifts into these securities and to continue purchases through 1920.

Claude Nosler and family stay with Fred Nosler at Riverton for the holidays as Mrs Pearl Snead visits from Norway.
