Thousands Will Pray For Peace Parade Plans Expand For July 16
Thousands of Southeast Side residents join civic, religious, and veteran groups for a patriotic parade and peace prayer on Saturday July 16. Sponsored by the National Shrine of the Little Flower the event begins at E 63rd and S Drexel and ends at a Jackson Park altar with a 70,000-person turnout expected last year. The procession includes 45 groups last year and now about double that, with 300 girls from 19 Chicago Catholic high schools singing along the route.
