Rev Taylor freed without trial on bass law charge
Albion Michigan June 5 Rev F M Taylor Marshall Methodist preacher was dismissed Tuesday without trial for catching a black bass. State game warden ordered the case dropped saying the law targets willful breakers. Prosecutor Stewart had declined to prosecute. Friends say a Marshall saloon keeper and others conspired to convict him.

Five Michigan boys may gain Naval Academy slots
Washington reports five Michigan youths may secure appointments to the United States Naval Academy next year. The Navy Department sent notices to five Michigan congressmen Townsend Diekema Smith McMorran and Fordney indicating appointments must be made before March 4. Busy extending amounts of taxes in July tax roll

Washington June 6 plans for the summer cruise of the naval militia on the Great Lakes have been completed by the navy department.
