The Silver party platform from the Nevada state convention in Carson City on September 4 1894 calls for free coinage of silver at 16 to 1 and gold coinage rights, opposes the gold standard, demands government ownership of telegraph lines and subsidized railroads, equality for labor and capital, and strict enforcement of laws. It denounces certain presidential actions, condemns lotteries, supports public schools and university funding, and endorses direct election of US senators and immigration restrictions.
