A historical blurb touts Scott's Emulsion as a standard remedy for consumption and related ailments. It promotes cod liver oil with hypophosphites, claiming alignment with modern medical views and urging purchase from druggists for $1.00.
The advertisement claims Chamberlain's Eye and Skin Ointment quickly relieves itching and smarting from eczema tetter and salt rheum and permanently cures many bad cases. It also suits itching pimples sore nipples chapped lips frost bites and chronic sore eyes. Sold by druggists 25 cents per box. Also Dr Cady's Condition Powders promoted as tonic blood purifier and vermifuge.
Commissioner Evans reports multiple letters from pensioners asking to cancel their pensions. One Michigan resident enclosed a certificate and said the pension should be recalled as unwarranted, offering to return all money drawn since 1895. Public notices also advertise local sales and rentals.
Notice is given that Samuel J. Anderson as administrator with the will annexed of the estate of Alex Wise will sell at public auction for cash, subject to court confirmation, the Grand Duchess Mine and Wise Pasture parcels in Humboldt County Nevada. Sale set January 25 at 12 oclock noon in front of the courthouse at Winnemucca. Deeds at purchaser expense.
