Knowledge promotes Syrup of Figs as a comforting health aid. The advertisement claims it cleanses the system, treats colds fevers and constipation, and balances kidneys liver and bowels without weakening them. Sold by druggists in 50c and 81 bottles, manufactured only by the California Fig Syrup Co with its name on every package.

A tale from Lincoln describes a bet at nine o clock to trade horses with a judge. The judge arrives with a shabby horse, while Lincoln carries a wooden saw horse. The crowd roars as Lincoln declares he got the worst of the deal, a witty twist in the day’s proceedings. Hay for sale announced by G. S. Nixon offering six to seven hundred tons of good hay.
