An ad touts Syrup of Figs as a pure laxative that cleanses the system and relieves colds fevers and constipation. It claims wide medical approval, targets kidneys liver and bowels without weakening them, and notes bottles are sold by druggists in 50c and 1 bundles, manufactured only by the California Fig Syrup Co with its name on each package.
Tickets sold and baggage checked through to eastern points. Travelers insurance tickets were sold.
A renowned bohemian dubbed The Man of the Lightning Jag is described for rapid intoxication and erratic sobriety. He reportedly turns sober after long office work, then quickly hallucinates with a drink, showing a close stomach brain link that amuses his friends.
Dr. W. W. Head is spending a few weeks in Areka and will return to Winnemucca to finish remaining dental work. Residents awaiting his services are advised to wait until his return.
Notice informs that Central Pacific Company filed for lands patent in Nevada townships north of base line and center meridian. Public inspection of the land list is posted in the office. Protest period extends sixty days from the notice date for challenges claiming mineral value over agricultural use.

District Court of Nevada Humboldt County orders all heirs to appear February 15 1895 at 10 AM to show cause why the residue should not be distributed. Publication of this order in Silver Star at weekly intervals until February 18 1895 is required. Judge KE Henry signed November 12.
