Married today plans described for T. J. Alspaugh and his daughter Stella to wed in Denver with F. V. Zimmerman traveling from Breckenridge to meet them. The couple then to Breckenridge to establish a home as Alspaugh continues travel for land investments in the southwest.
North Manchester Fair organizers promise a bigger show with larger purses premiums and exhibits. The event runs Wednesday to Sunday September 24 1927 featuring four races daily and automobile exhibitions by H W Freeburg with the White Flyer and Ford’s Flying Model on Thursday and Friday.
The Record office advertises the largest and most complete line of post cards ever brought to Silver Lake, inviting readers to view the collection.
Rev EE Wright and his wife traveled to Indianapolis last Friday for an operation at St Vincent hospital. The procedure lasted about one hour and five minutes. Mrs Wright recovered well and was reported to be doing nicely after the timely and effective surgery which addressed bowel adhesions and developing appendicitis.
The business room housing the post office and Arecord office changed hands twice in thirty days. J. D. Williams of Plymouth sold to T. J. Alspaugh, who then sold to S. S. Robinson, the current owner.

The Grand Lodge of Indiana releases its semi annual report via Grand Secretary W H Leedy showing resources rising to 3 385 505 receipts 417 786 and relief payments 116 210 total expenses 243 157 with a net six month gain of 1065 members 304 initiated and 45 deaths. total membership reaches 74 543.
Given Kk. Smith a Civil War veteran of Rockbridge County Virginia born June 19 1838 died September 19 1907 at his daughter Mrs. Pearson's home in Silver Lake after a long illness. He served in Co B 60th O V I and lived about forty years in the local community. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 30 p m at the U R B church under I O O F auspices with old soldiers present.
William Hendricks born 1783 in Westmoreland County Pennsylvania arrived in Indiana 1814 as an early Madison settler. He served as secretary of Indiana’s 1816 constitutional convention, was elected to Congress as a Democrat and re-elected three times before resigning in 1822 to become governor serving until February 2 1825, then resigned to become a United States senator.

Mr. Raymond Robinson and Miss Lillian Lafong were married at the Akron M E B parsonage at eight on Saturday evening Sept. 14. Rev. T M Hill performed the ceremony. The couple are highly regarded in the community west of Silver Lake and begin married life with many well wishes.
Meriam Ruth Weimer, first-born child of Cain C. and Della Weimer, died at age 2 years 6 months 18 days from brain congestion after two weeks of illness. Born February 28, 1905, she passed September 16, 1907 near town. Funeral held Wednesday at ten o’clock at South Pleasant with Rev Wright officiating.
Monday morning brought the first day of classes after a five month summer break. The Silver Lake and Lake township schools reported 153 pupils across primary intermediate and high school, with staff listed and plans for fuller enrollment as fall work continues.
