Joseph Mort, aged over 88 and living with his daughter Mrs. L. W. Myers, fell Tuesday in his home. He landed on his right leg and may have internal injuries. Mrs. Myers assisted him and a physician was called as his condition remained serious.
Grover Arnold and Charles Linton left Monday for Illinois to assist in gathering the large crop of core and to stay several weeks for field work.
Mrs Esther Wilson of Fulton Michigan visited relatives in Claypool last week and called at the ReEcoRD office Monday to renew her subscription to the newspaper in its former name.
Mrs George Lafony, living three miles west of town, has shown slow but steady health improvement after months of illness. She can now manage most household duties and is hoped to recover fully soon.

Mrs. Leckrone aged 71 died Sunday night at Emanuel Leckrone home after a brief sickness. She and husband Mr. Leckrone moved from farm life near town to town residence two weeks earlier seeking health relief. They raised eight children four sons and four daughters who are now adults. The couple, Indiana natives, had lived on the farm for over forty five years before moving to town. Despite medical efforts and messages to absent children the illness worsened and she passed away Sunday evening.
Charlotte Poorman Leckrone of Perry County Ohio born April 13 1843 died October 25 1914 at Silver Lake Indiana aged 71 years 6 months 12 days Married May 1 1867 to Emanuel Leckrone and mother of nine Laura Ara Asa Orpha Frank Elsie Irvin Minnie Ina She joined Church of the Brethren November 30 1878 and lived a devout life Survived by husband five brothers eight children twenty two grandchildren and three great grandchildren Funeral held Tuesday with cortege from home to Church of the Brethren two miles east of town.

Former Silver Lake girl Pauline Miller married John Perry Monday afternoon at 2 oclock in a quiet ceremony at Rev. C W Shoemaker’s home in Columbia City. The couple will reside on a farm near the city and both come from well known local families with ties to the Kerlin farm area.
Large turnout from the locality filled the Warsaw gathering Monday for a Republican meeting. Inclement weather failed to dampen participation as attendees remained plentiful.
Sylvester Johnston traveled to Sheldon to attend the funeral of his aunt Mrs Nancy Johnston. He remained several days visiting relatives and then returned home.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Alexander of Mississippi have spent the past weeks visiting relatives and friends in Indiana. They are well known to Silver Lake residents as they were raised there. Alexander is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Alexander of Warsaw, and Grace McGlennen, now Mrs. Alexander, is daughter of Michael McGlennen of South Whitley.
Charles Albert and wife narrowly escaped serious injury Sunday when their buggy was overturned near a railroad crossing south of North Manchester while driving to visit his parents Dr and Mrs RB Albert. An automobile crowded them, causing the crash and a dramatic mishap.
