Henry A. Ferree longtime postmaster at Unis place died at his home Monday night after a months long illness. The 12 year postmaster served in the army for three years and suffered stomach trouble among other ailments with advanced age. He is survived by his wife three sons and three daughters.
Henry Ancil Ferree born Kosciuszko County Indiana April 7 1844 died at home in Silver Lake October 19 1914 aged 70 years 6 months 14 days He married Martha E Lukens October 15 1867 and later Minerva E Perry They had three sons and three daughters He served in Co I 12th Indiana Infantry Civil War participated in Vicksburg Jackson Dalton Atlanta march to the Sea and other campaigns He later taught farmed manufactured and served as postmaster for twelve years He was a M E Church member of over 60 years Funeral held October 22 at his home conducted by Rev Park and interred at South Pleasant cemetery
The Toe Mazda Class of the M E Sunday School met at the home of Mrs OC A Pearson Wednesday evening.

Governor Samuel M. Ralston of Indiana stopped briefly in town during a statewide tour from Wabash to Warsaw. He addressed a large crowd in Warsaw and used the stop to greet many residents, praising the trip's pace and reception.
A pleasant reunion at the home of Mr and Mrs A F Priser east of town brought all their children and families together for the first time in years. The attendees included Mrs Guy Grube near Bippus Mrs Daniel Perry west of town Mrs Albert Dillman and a daughter at home. The day was enjoyed and long remembered.
Mr and Mrs Ed Drudge moved yesterday onto the Stickel farm southeast of town. The Thacker property they vacated will soon be occupied by Mr and Mrs William Perry who now occupy the Hirai Haney property in the east part of town.

It argues taxation reform, initiative and recall for accountability, home rule for cities, direct officer nominations, a Workingman's Compensation Act, elimination of the floating foreign vote, and reducing machine influence to empower the people.
Charles C. Bachman, a native of Kosciusko county born in Syracuse, is nominated for auditor. He started teaching young and graduated from Indiana State Normal in 1904, becoming Syracuse school superintendent in 1905 and serving in that role since then.

John Windbigler died at his son Jerry Windbigler’s home northwest of town last Saturday at age 88 years six days. Funeral was held at Beaver Dam church Sunday afternoon with many attending. Remains shipped Monday to Atont Kauss for interment. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Windbigler accompanied. Grandpa Windbigler was an early state settler well known locally. He grew ill with complications a few days before his death.
Mr. and Mrs. John Ayers assisted at the home of Mrs. Lyman Harris southwest of Roann from Friday to Sunday, helping care for the Harris infant daughter.
One week from next Tuesday the election will determine who will be the officials for the next term. Voters will learn new leadership and policy direction as results unfold nationwide.
A series of county official candidates from both parties visited the area this week, engaging local voters and seeking endorsements from political friends.
Information from the local lodge says a joint round table meeting will be held in the Odd Fellows hall in North Manchester on Thursday next. The afternoon session is for Odd Fellows with a public meeting at 7 30. Degree work may be given around nine, and many members from nearby areas are arranging to attend both sessions.

Charles Francisco and family from Ligonier were Sunday visitors to the John Cass residence southeast of town.
Two marriages were solemnized last Saturday as young couples joined hands in wedlock in a local ceremony. The announcements note the vows and the community’s celebration of these unions.
A marriage license was issued Saturday in Warsaw for Earl Zile and Hazel Bouse of near South Whitley. The couple planned to marry with a ceremony conducted by Reverend Noah McCoy.
Lev B Oldfather died shortly after noon last Saturday at the home of James Richards west of town. He fell while assisting with pigs, died after three breaths on a wagon box. Nearly 75, born in Montgomery County Ohio, moved as a child to this state, served in Co C 118th Ind Vol Infantry in the Civil War. Survived by wife and foster daughter Mrs Guilford Cook of Urbana and many relatives.
Levi BR Oldfather born April 20 1840 in Montgomery County Ohio died at 74 years 7 months 6 days He lived much of life in Wabash County Indiana married Sarah Richards in 1862 served in the Civil War before returning to the community He later remarried and remained a devoted Christian worker husband and comrade He leaves a widow and numerous relatives Funeral services were held Monday at Franklin church and interment was in Rose Hill cemetery
The management announces the Life of Christ in moving pictures. Showings are planned for Wednesday Thursday MW and Saturday nights next week from cradle to the grave.
Local residents attended a progressive meeting where Beveridge the progressive nominee for senator spoke on Thursday night in Warsaw. The gathering drew many attendees from the area to hear his remarks.
Judd and Kreamer continue fitting up the Old Creamery building on Saturday October 24, as work proceeds to ready the site for its new use.
