Bernard Yotter of Claypool and Misa Ethel Jontz wed in the clerk's office in Warsaw with Rev. A W Littrell officiating. The couple plans to visit Kendallville before settling in the Scoles homestead in Claypool.
John Mopp six year old of Battle Creek fractures the left arm after falling from a wagon at play. He is staying with grandmother Mrs William Little north of town and is reported to be recovering nicely.
Charles Wiltrout has closed his tailor shop as he travels to Chicago for treatment. The aim is a rapid recovery and a return to work within a few weeks.
E W Gresso and family moved their household goods to North Manchester last Friday. Snow and very disagreeable weather marked the day. We regret losing this family as residents but commend them as excellent people to North Manchester.
Ice at the meat market is exhausted forcing Tuesday shipment from Warsaw as Mr. Alspaugh orders a new load brought in to replenish supplies.
The Victoria reading club will observe Benedict night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Hamman next Monday. An excellent program is being arranged for the event.
Weather delays stall progress on the Main Street sewer. Crews report the line extends to the post office with no quicksand found to a depth of about twelve feet.
Renowned astronomer and long distance weather forecaster Rev Irl Hicks died of pneumonia in St Louis at 71. His sons, who have worked with him, are expected to continue his forecasting work. Snow and blizzard conditions described as a harsh welcome to winter unfold in nearby towns.
Miss Ruth Rowland, employed at the Gresso store for over a year, resigned her position last Saturday evening.
Charles Young and family have moved to town and now occupy the east part of the Hiram Rager property vacated last Friday by William Gresso.
Rev T M Hill and family of Ligonier escaped serious injury when their car slid into a five foot ditch on a slippery road west of Warsaw while en route to the William East home. The vehicle suffered a broken windshield and bent fenders but occupants were unhurt with aid arriving promptly.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Bowen hosted guests including Mrs. George Leighty and daughters Zella Zary and Willodean of Warsaw C A Valentine and family of Claypool and Mrs. Charles Bowen of Brethren Michigan in a pleasant social gathering last Sunday.
Rexall drug stores nationwide conduct a straw poll on the presidential race. Local Rexall Roger & Jontz invite customers to vote for Wilson or Hughes, with results tallied at the store and to be announced days before the polls open.
Rally Day is planned for Sunday October 29 at the Lutheran Sunday school with a program of solos duets trips recitations and short talks by Sunday workers. The regular lesson will be taught and all are invited to attend. Committee.
The Farmers bank received new furniture on Monday and will be set in place once a factory representative arrives to supervise delivery and installation.
M Ez Sunday school plans a Hallowe en program at the Carter home just east of town. All Mazda class members are urged to attend and the house will be tastefully decorated.
Earl Spangle of the south town received a replacement horse after a public subscription raised funds. A newspaper notice states gratitude to all who aided and circulated the appeal and contributed to buying the new horse.
Miss Gladys Sprigg and Miss Eunice Martindale attended the Sidney high school lyceum opening Tuesday evening at the Lyceum. Messrs Paul Hall and Melvin Wagner joined after the ladies arrived.
Fred Hoover and Victor Wakefield were arrested for robbing a cottage at Winona Lake. They escaped from the county jail Thursday night by forcing open a trap door over their cell, crawled to the roof and slid down. Hoover has since been sent to the reform school at Marlfield and Wakefield is to be kept on promise of good behavior.

Federal agents hunt officers of the National Brokerage Exchange after thousands of letters from women pour into the Minneapolis post office. Each letter offered ten cents and a promise of a new silk petticoat in 1917 in exchange for drawing in five friends. A Minneapolis business block housing the operation was vacated, with many letters returned to sender.
Charles Wiltrout traveled to Chicago last Sunday to undergo treatment at a hospital. He will be absent for a couple of weeks while doctors evaluate the benefits and expected improvement from the care.
Mrs Myers will travel to St Louis on Saturday to visit her daughter Mrs James Anglin and her husband.
