Settlement Reached Over 1915 House Fire Loss
On October 18 Aetna Insurance settled with W. W Hill through Brash and Hanson for a small fire loss of 9.46 dollars from a fire on October 7 1915. The blaze started from a cook stove and a crate of dried apples in the baker caught fire and burned linoleum and floor before discovery.

Death of Ruby Smith Marks Local Loss in Indiana Parish
Miss Ruby Ethel Smith died at her home near Claypool Indiana after a weeks illness from tubercular meningitis. Funeral at Mount Pleasant church drew about eight hundred attendees with Rev H W Park presiding. Born March 30 1894 she was 21 years 6 months 14 days at death and left parents a brother a half sister and half brother plus a devoted fiancé and many friends. She was a 1913 Claypool High graduate and longtime Sunday school secretary and church worker. Her character is described as pure childlike and a beacon of faith.
