Bruce Sherbondy of Warsaw sealed a joint in a sewer pipe with molten lead last Saturday. An explosion caused spattering of hot lead near his head when water contacted the asbestos in the joint. He escaped with slight burns to neck and face and avoided serious eye injuries.

Death of Mrs. John Seiford in North Manchester
Mrs. John Seiford died suddenly from heart trouble at her North Manchester home shortly after midnight Sunday. Born in Maryland August 28, 1829, she was 78. She married Jacob Olinger in 1845, then John Seiford in 1905. Six children survive. funeral held at U B church Tuesday, with Rev. Edgar Green presiding. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery.

Wreck on Pennsylvania Road Claims Two Lives
A rear end collision between freight trains on the Pennsylvania road west of Bourbon at 4:30 Monday morning killed Conductor W. F. Koontz of Ft Wayne and injured four others, with engineer A. M. Slagle also dying from injuries. The wreck resulted from an operator's error at Inwood who allowed a second train into the block before the first cleared. Fireman C. O. Spencer is feared fatally injured with possible skull fracture and crushed hips.

John Gall Killed by Train at Goshen
John Gall was fatally struck by a flyer on the Lake Shore road Tuesday evening near Goshen. He was a night watchman and was en route to work when the accident occurred, his body badly mangled. Gall and his family had lived in the area several years ago.
