Obituary of Alvin Burtas Baker of Kosciusko and Wabash

Alvin Burtas Baker was born in Kosciusko County on September 10 1879 and died in Wabash County on September 29 1903 at age 25. He sought the Lord during illness and was converted on September 12, dying in the triumph of faith. The funeral was held Thursday forenoon at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. T. M. Hill of Burket.

Lewis W Isley, 51, a Wabash locomotive engineer from Toledo, died after his engine struck cattle near Defiance Ohio and toppled. He died three hours later from steam scalding. His widow and son survive. funeral held at Andrews with local attendees.

Death Notice for Shelby Arthur of Roann Indiana

Shelby Arthur born April 21 1819 in Franklin County Virginia son of John and Charlotte Arthur. He married Rebecca Neff on April 30 1846 who died years ago. He moved to Wabash County Indiana in 1849 near Roan and later Roann in 1876. He joined the German Baptist church in 1851, helped form the Brethren Church at Roann, died September 27 after a three week illness aged 89 years, 5 months, 6 days with four sons four daughters nineteen grandchildren and one great grandchild surviving. Elder Somers officiated the funeral with three sons and three sons-in-law as pallbearers.

Joint Institute Meet Schedules Next Session at Claypool

Clay and Lake townships held a joint institute at Silver Lake on Saturday October 3 led by Trustee Arthur after roll call. Mrs Anglin presided due to Arthurs illness appointing. The program featured Miss Kinsey Mort and Adaddell presenting The Life of Lincoln and Jean Mitchells school. The group adjourned to meet in Claypool on November 7.

A REcord representative with T. J. Colbert visited the Sausaman place east of town last Monday to observe the Banner Natural Preserving Process. They saw preserved items from this season back eight years, including corn, peaches, tomatoes, peas, strawberries, pickles, mangos and more, all in natural condition. The process reportedly preserves any perishables at low cost, is convenient and healthful, and could preserve meat butter age as well as produce. Mr. Sausaman is praised for his potential success.

Injury at hay baler accident at Oldfather farm

James Lundy sustained considerable injuries when he was caught between a hay baler and its engine while pushing the machine into the barn at H. L. Oldfather's farm yesterday. He was promptly taken to Dr. Leckrone's office for treatment.
