Telegram from Toledo reports the death of Lewis W Isley a longtime locomotive engineer on the Wabash railway. Details of his death are unknown at this time. His funeral was held yesterday at Andrews. He was a brother of Mrs Jesse Martin who resides southeast of this place.

Wild hog hunt ends with two hundred fifty pound game

A Lake township party including Rantz Carter and Pearson hunted a rogue two hundred fifty pound wild hog that roamed farms east of town. Despite stout defense the hog was killed by Pearson with a Winchester. The animal, a crop pest belonging to Rantz & Son, was given to Carter as compensation for crop damage.
