James Eaton Dead After Prolonged Illness
James Eaton died at his home northwest of here after two years of illness from heart failure. He was nearly seventy and longtime resident. Funeral held Sunday morning at Fairview Church near Yellow Creek Lake, Rev. Pence officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. Survived by wife, three children Arthur Gates and Jonas Eaton of Mentone, and Mrs E M Snake of this place, plus several brothers and sisters.

Tramp Cigarmaker Killed by Train Near Packerton
Peter Gibson a 39 year old transient cigarmaker with unknown home was killed on Nickel Plate road east of Packerton last Saturday morning. Coroner and Union efforts to locate relatives followed. He was likely riding a Nickel Plate freight passing through Packerton at 1 30 am. The body found by M O Heeter at 6 30 am showed a broken arm and severe head injury. Death attributed to brain concussion. Union card found indicating prior membership in New Haven and Chicago unions and work in Fort Wayne and Chicago.
