Mr. Leroy M. Burdge will leave our city to become assistant cashier at Citizens National Bank in Tipton. The move followed an offer from the Tipton bank and arrived after an Indiana bank learned of him. Burdge has been notified to report for duty at once as directors finalize the recompense.
A fire starting from an overheated furnace damaged the candy kitchen in Warsaw around 2 o clock Tuesday morning. The blaze caused about $2,000 in damage.
Robert Long was in town several days last week visiting old friends. He left Warsaw last Friday for his home in Penix Arizona. His mother Mrs S C Long of Warsaw accompanied him and will remain for the winter.
The National Association for the Study and Prevention of Tuberculosis announces Tuberculosis Sunday. Churches nationwide will discuss "What have the churches to do with the tuberculosis problem" on December 2 or 9. Over 100,000 churches and religious groups expected to participate this year.
The high school entertainment scheduled for yesterday afternoon was postponed and will be held Thursday evening next week in the high school building. The program has been well arranged and promises good value for the admission price.
Archie Lowman long employed with a Pennsylvania bridge gang returned home Monday and is confined to his house with an attack of seiatic rheumatism.
Here From North Dakota Prank Johnson of Binford ND arrived here Saturday to visit his brother CO. Johnson and family. He left Tuesday for Ohio to stay several days and will stop here on his return trip.
The band hosted a Wednesday evening event with many masked attendees in varied costumes. A grand march and mask removal preceded a box auction selling at full price. The novelty walk drew interest, and total proceeds of 107.50 were donated to the local Red Cross for army and hospital relief.
Miss Mable Sailors taught in Burket schools but the district closed the schools last week due to scarlet fever in town.
Mr and Mrs Roscoe Self and their daughter are expected here from Williston North Dakota. They will stay the winter with their relatives.
The Kosciusko Circuit Court December term opens next Monday. Grand jurors include Emory Montel of Lake township while Petit jurors list F M Taques Lake township LE Minear Clay township and John Landis Jackson township.

The United States Civil Service Commission announces an examination in Kosciusko County Indiana to fill zonal carrier positions at Warsaw and vacancies that may arise. The test will be held in Warsaw and South Whitley on January 12 1918.
A local paper publishes part of a letter from Wilbur W Miller now in the U S Army. He recounts leaving Camp Greene North Carolina last Saturday November 17th and traveling by train unknown to the group until they arrived in Hempstead Camp Mills New York.
Mrs George Summe was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital last Saturday for treatment expected to last several weeks. She was accompanied by Mr Summe who returned Monday morning.
Mr and Mrs Ernest Myers left last evening to spend their thanksgiving vacation with relatives near North Manchester and north of Packers ton. Mr Myers heads the grammar department of our schools and is well liked by pupils and patrons.
Indiana federal officials express appreciation that tuberculosis prevention must be intensified due to wartime shortages. Dr Barnard and Evans Wo lens urge the state society to push stronger efforts as the Red Cross Christmas Seal campaign continues.
