Rev. H. L. Greenwalt, former pastor at Wells Memorial Lutheran church in Silver Lake, left for Ohio to marry, no public announcement made locally. He served nearly three years before resigning August 22 to join the Goshen church.
Ira Bark started his sawmill last Thursday and it is doing well after the plant was destroyed recently. He will cut material to complete buildings and then begin lumber work on contracts he has sizable prospects for.
Stout and Son sold a cook stove and equipment and a Garland hard coal burner to Earl Haney at New Paris Indiana. Haney has accepted a position as agent and operator with the Wabash railroad company and plans to set up housekeeping soon with Mrs Haney.
A public sale will be held on the S. J. Self farm one mile south of Silver Lake on Friday November 13 1903. Mr Self offers 6 horses 15 head of cattle 34 head of sheep hogs Langhan chickens farming implements hay and corn. Two usual terms 10 months time. Sale at 10 o'clock. J D Gill auctioneer C. E. Stout clerk.

On Wednesday a pane of glass was broken at Grandma Votter's home by Henry Ayers and Sherman Rhodes. The boys caroused, throwing clubs and stones, and Ayers is described as not likely to be content until he lands in reform school. He is under truancy watch for playing truant.
Jacob Barrett received notice from Fort Atkinson Wisconsin that his two year old son was hurt when scissors hanging with mittens fell and struck the eye. A physician treated the wound with four stitches and the doctor believes the eye may not be permanently lost with careful care.

Irregular Claypool Akron and North Manchester routes require readjustment before any new route. The carrier examination planned for Tuesday is indefinitely postponed.
Mrs W K Haviland of Armonk New York recalls her daughter nearly dying from whooping cough and bronchitis. After failing remedies, Dr King’s New Discovery saved the child and a niece with advanced consumption also benefited from the medicine.
The World’s Fair admissions department tests a ticket slot machine to replace human sellers. A 60-cent coin triggers a stamped ticket from a wound spool, with automatic money registration and a secure bag. Once perfected it will operate at gates and major city hotels.
Frank Carter of Newton County Indiana died by suicide after displaying melancholy and moodiness. He rose early, retrieved a rifle, and fatally shot himself near the barn despite his wife’s attempts to intervene.
