Morning Routine in Army Camp Described in Detail
A wartime letter details a daily rhythm starting with bugle calls at 5:30, roll calls, meals, and barrack life. It notes strict dress and bed regulations, long bunkhouses, and the shift from work to study rest, with scarce news and humor from French clerks. It also shares personal reflections about leaving Indiana eight years ago and correspondence from friends and family visiting local relatives.
