Storm Burns Barns and Property Near Pierceton
A lightning storm Saturday night destroyed two large barns and a granary on the Henery Weaver farm two miles southeast of Pierceton, killing twenty eight hogs, a calf and a colt and destroying lumber, straw, implements and more. Loss near 7000 dollars with about 4000 dollars covered by insurance. A barn near Collins owned by John Lewis burned with hay and implements, loss about 2500 dollars, partially insured. Also a roof blown from the George Lafong barn and a silo blown down at the G A McClure place west of town.
