Funeral Sunday for Silvanus Funk Near North Manchester

Funeral services for Silvanus Funk were held at the Church of the Brethren two miles east of North Manchester. Rev. T. D. Butterbaugh led the service with interment in the cemetery west of town. Funk, 75, born August 25 1840 in Starke County Ohio, moved to Indiana with his parents and lived locally. He married Anna Armey in 1870 and leaving a son Ezra M. Funk and a daughter Mrs. Orpha Bridge.

Obituary: Silvanus Funk of Silver Lake and Starke County

Silvanus Funk born January 26 1841 in Starke County Olin died March 16 1916 near Silver Lake Indiana aged 75 1 20. He married Anna Aramiey November 19 1871 and had two children Orpha Bridge and Ezra M. Funk. He joined the Church of the Brethren August 24 1871 served as deacon and trustee, aided Eel River church building committees and the Mexico old folks and orphans home trustee. He leaves a wife one daughter one son three sisters two brothers and three grandsons. He died faithful in the Lord with rest from labors.
