Jesse E Eschbach of Warsaw earns praise as Speaker of the Indiana House for steering finances with economy. Indianapolis dispatch notes his refusal to approve any appropriation over 100000, cites Senate journal costs at 14500, and calls the house log book up to date. Warsaw Daily Times reports broad compliments from across the state.

Mr Pearson shuts the bakery after the oven fell into bad shape and will supply customers with Hassick's Butternut bread from Elkhart bakery until repairs are completed.
Moyne six month old son of Mr and Mrs McCrillus Brooks died last Friday after a several weeks illness. Funeral was held Sunday at West Manchester church with burial in the nearby cemetery.
Moving to Michigan shel Day loaded his household Tuesday and the family moved to a farm near Niles. The Day family occupied the Braude farm north of town and settled into their new rural home.
The Board of Trustees of Silver Lake will meet in a regular session tomorrow evening March 1. Officials expect there will be important business matters on the agenda.
Chester Jontz formerly of the Ball farm southeast of town will move to South Bend for a period. He has secured employment there and plans to try city life for several years with his family accompanying him.
Mr. and Mrs. Seth Taylor welcome a baby girl born last Monday afternoon February 19. Grandfather Taylor visits daily, calling the girls his granddaughters. Mrs. Taylor is formerly Miss Alfretta Price, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Price who live northwest of town.
H A Moyer road superintendent posts warnings along the Hoosier Dixie highway about heavy hauling in wet or thawing weather. Teamsters are told to avoid heavy loads or face penalties as wagons damage roads. Four miles of road in the township are praised, with calls for public cooperation to maintain them.
Ed Reed and his family have moved from Wabash to the south part of town occupying the Charles Teeter property. Reed will manage the creamery for Mr. Braude starting last week.
Eph Ruth aged about 64 and wife of the Claypool Journal editor died at her Claypool home after a short illness. The Ruth family had lived in Claypool eight to ten years. Survived by husband two daughters and a son. Funeral arrangements pending awaiting western relatives. Likely services Sunday in charge of Rev A R Singer at M E Church. Interment expected Poneto cemetery south of Bruffton where children are buried. Community extends sympathy to the Ruth family.
Mrs. C L Leonard entertained members of the Reading club at her home on Monday evening in a social gathering noting neighborly participation and conversation.
Mrs. Ethel Rautenkrantz entertained members of the mothers club at her home Friday afternoon.
A series of revival services will begin at the Lutheran church on Sunday March 11. The event invites the community to attend and participate in the scheduled gatherings through the week.
The Wabash district of the M B E church will hold its annual conference March 6 7 and 8 at Warren in Huntington county. The event opens Tuesday evening and continues through Thursday evening.
W H Rice of Bristol has moved with his family onto the Jaques farm west of town to join the community and settle in. The town welcomes Mr Rice and his family.
A Tuesday evening gathering at the Lyceum in the Methodist church drew a large attendance. The Mason Jubilee Singers performed many selections, delivering them at the right time and place in the right manner. The fourth and final number of the course will appear sometime during March.
Last Saturday Ephriam Drudge and his son Pressie found a large blue racer in the woods. The snake lay cold and nearly helpless after emerging from winter quarters, and was killed after it was measured at five feet long by the Drudges.
Charles Young disposes of property just west of town selling the place to P. F. Helser. Helser and his family occupy the site this week.
The Sausaman family moves onto the Camp Ball farm southeast of town, previously occupied by Chester Jontz for years. Neighbors expect diligent work and good progress under Sherman Sausaman.
Charles True, previously employed for a couple of years at Pearson bake shop, went back to his Rochester home late last week as the oven repair needs led Mr. Pearson to close the shop temporarily.
Alvin Robinson of this city and Emma A. Benton of Henderson North Carolina were married at Henderson on February 21 at 1 pm by Rev. R A White. They arrived in Warsaw from Washington DC and will reside here. Benton formerly lived in Warsaw and is mother of Frank Benton. Robinson is brother to Jane Robinson of the area.
Summe Brothers announce an opening event on Friday and Saturday March 16 and 17 with special inducements across their lines of goods and factory demonstrators in charge.
A letter from Rev A F Kline now in Washington state discusses La Center weather in February 1907. He notes mild winter, garden planting, and root vegetables remaining in the ground for digging as needed. He sends a $1.25 money order for another year’s Record subscription.
Beulah Martindale, a Silver Lake instructor in Regan North Dakota writes home about railouts blizzards and zero to 52 below temperatures. She details trains buried in thirty foot drifts, rotary plows broken, and mail deliveries of two to three times weekly while noting residents’ endurance and humor during the record cold spell.
Mrs. O A Davis of Rochester and Mrs. A D Miller of Warsaw visited from Warsaw and stayed with the Joshua Leffel home on Monday. Mrs. Davis remained until Tuesday calling on many of her girl hood friends. Mrs. Davis, formerly Miss Dora Terry, was born in Silver Lake.
Copies of the Cando North Dakota newspaper received for inspection by Joseph Armey show residents moving forward and getting along nicely. The correspondence notes active community momentum and positive times in the region.
