J N Simmons recalls July flood along the San Juan near Farmington New Mexico losing Mr Tice and facing rapid water rises. He and wife oversaw the mission as Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent while Mrs Simmons likely escaped. Debris and undermined buildings forced a perilous river crossing and eventual rescue.

A farmhouse and nearly all contents owned by Harvey Brandenburg near Gospel Hill were destroyed by a fire on Saturday. Firefighters fought the blaze but the dwelling could not be saved. No injuries were reported.
John Fimmons 55 along with Mrs Mikee Utter living near here were struck by northbound train No 34 at the Utter farm crossing Monday afternoon. Emmons suffered multiple broken ribs head and body bruises and a crushed leg in critical condition. Horses unharmed fled home. Train crew found Emmons unconscious and he was taken to Dr Lands clinic in Claypool for treatment.
Mrs Lee Cline suffered a severe gash near the left eye after an incident Monday. Police reported the case as a nonfatal injury with no further details available.

Farmers' Bulletin No. 442 on treatment is available free from the Secretary of Agriculture. Brood diseases do not affect honey for human consumption. Cc. E. Wiltrout buys W.H. Davis interest in Davis Bros store and plans to reduce tailoring work. the firm will be Davis & Wiltrout as Mr. Davis retires for health reasons.
