Pioneer Elias Hively Dies at 77 in Silver Lake Ohio

Elias Hively born near Akron Summit County Ohio September 24 1834 spent early years on a farm in Indiana later married Elizabeth Aukerman at Akron They had three children Jasper Arthur Ollie He moved to Silver Lake in 1884 and joined the Methodist Episcopal church serving as class leader and Sunday School superintendent He died of pneumonia at his home north of Silver Lake on April 8 1912 aged 77 years 6 months 14 days Survived by his wife two children three grandchildren one brother and many friends Funeral services were led by Rev A D Buck at the M E Church with interment in South Pleasant cemetery

Death of Henry Armey North Manchester resident dies after long illness

Henry Armey, longtime North Manchester resident, died at his home last Saturday after months of illness. He had a prior stroke but recovered enough to stay home, then suffered a second stroke last Wednesday and gradually declined. Funeral held Monday at the Church of the Brethren with burial west of town.

Mrs William Caldwell died at her home near Claypool Thursday afternoon after several weeks of pluro pneumony illness. She is survived by her husband, one son, one daughter and many friends. The funeral was held Saturday with a large crowd in attendance.

Francis Delackie of Goshen was arrested in Warsaw and brought before the Elkhart county judge where he pled guilty to stealing a bicycle. He received a sentence from one to eight years in the Jeffersonville reformatory.
